DMG/Mori Seiki Open House at DECKEL MAHO Pfronten

Sixty machine tools were in operation with demonstrations at the DMG/Mori Seiki Open House.

A large number of manufacturing engineers from around the world attended the recent DMG/Mori Seiki Open House at DECKEL MAHO Pfronten, Germany.

At the recent DMG/Mori Seiki Open House at DECKEL MAHO, Pfronten, Germany, a large number of attendees saw demonstrated 60 high-tech machines, among them six world premieres: CTX beta 800 4A, featuring a flexible working area due to cross moveable combination of counter spindle and tailstock; DMU 80 eVo with pallet changer, offering high productivity within 5-axis simultaneous machining, with fast and space saving pallet changer; DMU 85 FD monoBLOCK, with 5-axis milling and turning of workpieces up to 1,000 kg in a single setup; DMC 60 H linear, featuring 25% more productivity and accuracy due to linear drives; NHX 4000 (MAPPS), with large availability of spindles and tool interfaces and DMC 65 monoBLOCK, featuring three pallets and 5-axis simultaneous machining as standard.

The attendees saw demonstrated the new NHX 4000 in the field of horizontal centers from the cooperation partner Mori Seiki. The horizontal machining center can in the future be optionally equipped with the Siemens 840D solutionline or the MAPPS IV control. Mori Seiki has a range of new possibilities in the field of horizontal machining centers with its larger horizontal centers NHX5000, NHX5500 and NHX6300.

Mori Seiki turning and milling machines from the new X-class were on display. The NLX2500SY/700 targets the field of classic universal turning, with the possibilities of complex milling with powered tools based on BMT technology. "Turning without limits and milling with B-axis in one setup is the domain of the NTX series. Within this context, the NTX1000 focuses on highly accurate complete machining of smaller components for example in the field of medical engineering, while the NTX2000/1500SZ with counter spindle and bottom turret as second tool mount sets new standards in flexible machining of complex precision components," said the company spokesperson.

Ten technology seminars covered a wide range of subjects: 5-Axis Machining; Aerospace Manufacturing; HSC - High Speed Cutting; Turning Technology; HMC Automotive Manufacturing; Large Machines (XXL), such as crankcase machining for energy technology; Tooling; LifeCycle Services; Medical/Dental Manufacturing and GILDEMEISTER Energy Solutions.

Energy efficiency was stressed at the open house. Attendees learned about new fuel-efficient machine technologies, energy-saving manufacturing processes, automatic shutdown routines, new software tools and service products to increase energy efficiency in developing, manufacturing and using machine tools.
