High Performance Alloys Adds Flow WaterjetMarch 1, 2012
High Performance Alloys has added a new Flow Waterjet to its Windfall, IN, facility.
"To help keep up with demand and allow for faster cutting on thinner items, another table was added," said a company spokesperson. Dimensions of the new machine's capabilities are 6'6" x 9'10". Unlike the larger machine already installed, this is a non-dynamic model. Good part tolerance along with minimal burring and draft from dimensions is achieved. It features many edge qualities to choose from, from fine to separating (rough) cuts. Parts can be cut with multiple edge qualities on a single piece during the same program. This flexibility allows the user to decide which surfaces need special attention, and which surfaces will be machined further later. Lower cut time allows for more parts to be cut and a greater part economy, the company said.
