KOMA Precision has introduced the new Khyan-TW hybrid tool presetter. "This tool presetter was developed as a more cost-effective equivalent to competitor tool inspection machines," said a company spokesperson. "Constructed using ground granite and stainless steel with a single 23 inch high-definition screen, the unit has two outstanding optical cameras that also sport digital zoom capabilities, and users can import and export DXF profiles to check and compare tools. Easy to setup and simple to operate, the unit even incorporates additional capabilities focused specifically on tool geometry.

"The precision spindle system is fully interchangeable and uses a one-piece cartridge which eliminates the need for adaptors and any associated errors that they lead to. The spindle on the Khyan-TW also incorporates a universal mechanical clamping system with its own electronic tool clamping confirmation.

"The software provides a complete tool management system and working with a DNC system, it can convert measured tool data into CNC code for direct loading into the machine's controller. The system includes Wi-Fi connectivity as standard."
