At WESTEC 2012, OMAX will showcase its large-scale 80X JetMachining Center (X-Y cutting travel of 13' 4" x 6' 8") with a 50 HP EnduroMAX direct drive pump and a taper-removal cutting head accessory, the Tilt-A-Jet.
"Our premium, high precision OMAX 80X allows an operator to cut large parts or multiple parts to meet the growing demands of customers," said an OMAX spokesperson. "The 80X JetMachining Center is designed to expand shop capacities and capabilities. When used with the efficient EnduroMAX Pump, the OMAX waterjet machines at lower operating costs. The EnduroMAX's variable output pressure provides more cutting power per kilowatt than pumps using intensifier technology. EnduroMAX Pump technology also produces high hydraulic power at the cutting nozzle and quailty jet stream control. The Tilt-A-Jet Cutting Head achieves ultra-high precision taper compensation. With the Tilt-A-Jet, users can produce precise interlocking pieces and dove tail fittings."
OMAX will also exhibit a waterjet from its value-oriented product line, MAXIEM Waterjets. The MAXIEM 1530 JetCutting Center (X-Y cutting travel of 10' 2" x 5' 2") is suitable for new waterjet users interested in affordable, robust abrasivejet cutting equipment, the company said. At WESTEC, the MAXIEM 1530 will be equipped with an A-Jet accessory and a 40 HP MAXIEM direct drive pump.
"The MAXIEM 1530 is designed to provide accessible, cost-efficient abrasive waterjet technology by harnessing the cold cutting processes," said the spokesperson. "When utilized with the A-Jet, an articulated cutting head, the MAXIEM can machine beveled edges at specific angles, giving the operator the ability to create countersinks and weld-ready edges. The MAXIEM direct drive pumps are designed to deliver the same high reliability and efficiency found in OMAX direct drive pumps."
