Clausing Offers Programmable Macro-Drill Quill Power Feed

Clausing Industrial, Inc. offers a Programmable Macro-Drill Quill Power Feed for the US-made 20" industrial drill. It allows the user to automate hole drilling and is most effective on deep hole "peck" drilling. Peck drilling is used to prevent shavings from tangling with the drill bit and breaking it and prolongs bit life by reducing heat build-up. The up and down motion of peck drilling allows the drill bit to go deeper into the material then withdrawing to pull the chips out of the hole. The Programmable Macro-Driller Quill Power Feed is designed to be easy to program by using the keypad and can be installed on any model of Clausing 20" drill press, either at time of purchase or as a field retrofit.

The American made 20" floor drills are designed and built to meet virtually any heavy-duty drilling requirement, the company said. The drills are available in column, table with legs and up to four head multiple spindle models. All feature a heavy-duty precision head with all bearing surfaces precision bored simultaneously for exact alignment, ball bearing support to absorb both radial and thrust loads, 4" turned and ground steel column for rigidity and a precision ground oil through table.

Clausing 20" drills are available with 2-speed infinitely variable speeds from 150 to 2,000 RPM and 200-1,300 RPM or 300-2,000 RPM infinitely variable speed ranges. Clausing drills, equipped with a Programmable Macro-Driller Quill Power Feed have a drilling capacity of 1" in cast iron, .75" in mild steel and 3MT spindle nose.
