Cubic offers its TR-45E CNC tapping centers. TR-45E is a 30-taper tapping center that comes with 10,000 RPM direct drive spindle. The machine is capable of rigid tapping at up to 4,000 RPM. The high performance machine offers rapid traverses rated at 1,890 IPM for X- and Y-axis and 2,362 IPM for Z-axis. TR-45E can pull peak acceleration of 2.2G on X, 1.9G on Y and 1.0G on Z.

TR-45E comes with a 12-tool armless-type tool changer that can change tools in 1.4 seconds tool-to-tool.

The high speed spindle on the TR-45E adopts the NBT specification for dual-surface contact. Using NBT dual-contact technology allows both spindle taper and the spindle flange to be in contact with the tool holder, increasing metal removal rate and improving part finishes, the company said.

TR-45E uses the latest FANUC 0iMD control. A fourth axis rotary table can be added to the TR-45E depending on customer requirements. It is well suited for applications in the electronics and medical industries as well as other industries that need a high performance machining center with a small footprint.
