COE Press Equipment has announced the availability of its new Clam Shell Straightener with a design that is intended to allow the top rollers to rise up and separate from the bottom rollers to provide access for easy inspection and cleaning of the rolls. "This open head feature is helpful when running materials with critical finish requirements as users can ensure the rolls are clean and free from debris that might otherwise mark the surface," said a company spokesperson.

To raise the head that contains the top rolls, users simply push a button that activates a hydraulic cylinder. The new Clam Shell Straightener concept is applicable to any size COE straightener. "This offering further expands our comprehensive coil processing solutions so that our customers can continue to increase productivity and improve quality," said General Manager Jim Ward.

The clam shell power straightener design comes with many standard features and options to meet any application need, the company said.
