Hypertherm Introduces New HyIntensity Fiber Laser Cutting Systems

Hypertherm has released two new HyIntensity Fiber Laser systems, the two-kilowatt HFL020 and the one-kilowatt HFL010. These two new systems join a 1.5 kilowatt system unveiled in 2010 as the first fully-integrated fiber laser systems designed specifically for cutting applications, including marking and fine-feature cutting, the company said.

According to the company, the systems feature:

  • Performance on a range of applications and consistent cut quality across a number of material types including brass and copper and thicknesses up to 16 mm (5/8") on mild steel.
  • Higher cut speeds, lower operating costs and higher productivity than CO2 laser or plasma on material thicknesses below 6 mm (1/4").
  • Cut quality and tolerances for fine-feature cutting on materials from gauge to plate.
  • Easy integration and installation onto existing cutting tables, even tables that already have a plasma torch.

All of the HyIntensity systems were developed and manufactured by Hypertherm in the United States.
