New Eliminator Lubrication Pads from Mate

Mate has introduced a new way to maintain punched parts edge quality with its new Eliminator (patents pending) lubrication pads. They are designed to keep the punch tip lubricated throughout the punching process, preventing galling and other problems. The lubricating pads reduce heat buildup in the punch, extending tool life while maintaining quality edges to punched parts, the company said.

"Eliminator lubrication pads are designed to insert easily into tooling assemblies," said a company spokesperson. "Once in place, they ensure even distribution of lubricant on the punch through each punching cycle. These Eliminator tooling pads provide extra tooling protection and enhance the punching process. They are particularly helpful when punching difficult material and when operating the turret press at optimal speeds.

"Made of polyether filter foam, these Eliminator lubrication pads are available in sizes for A through E station thick turret tooling but can also be used in other tooling styles. To set up, insert correct size lubrication pad into the punch and stripper assembly. 'Punch' the hole into the pad, then saturate the pad with 46-68 ISO viscosity hydraulic oil."

"Mate's Eliminator lubrication pads help deliver more value to the punching process," said John Galich, Mate Marketing Manager. "During our extensive product testing, our test engineers were amazed that there was no galling on the punch. They are an economical way to extend tooling life while ensuring top quality punching results."
