"The current release of hyperMILL CAM software has innovative shape-offset roughing and finishing techniques," said an OPEN MIND spokesperson. "Also included is a variation on the shape-offset roughing to include the hyperMAXX high performance roughing module.
"Shape-offset techniques are designed for use with general wrapped surfaces that can be defined by the bottom of a pocket and a depth used for multiple offsets. Other features, boundaries and pockets are determined automatically by the routine. Applications include engine casings, aero-structural components and tire molds. Together with hyperMAXX, based on Celeritive's Volumill kernel, high performance roughing techniques can be applied in 4- or 5-axis.
"hyperMILL is a broad-based CAM software designed to provide robust solutions for 2.5-axis through 5-axis, including mill-turn and automation all in one consistent user interface. The software is available as a stand-alone CAM software product, or integrated within SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor. OPEN MIND also develops robust postprocessors to assure integration with machine tool and controller functions."
