Flow International to Exhibit Waterjet Cutting at MFG4May 1, 2012
Flow International Corporation will conduct live demonstrations of the latest in waterjet cutting technology at MFG4 2012. "Waterjets are becoming a standard machine tool in a variety of industries because of their accuracy and the nearly unlimited range of materials they can cut without changing the material's mechanical properties," said a company spokesperson.
"The Flow booth will feature the advanced Mach 4 waterjet that combines Flow's HyperJet pump, with 45% more cutting pressure than standard systems and Dynamic XD, high-precision flat stock and 3D cutting technology.
"Flow's HyperJet pump is rated at 94,000 PSI, delivering a stream of water at nearly four times the speed of sound. Waterjets equipped with HyperPressure systems cut up to 50% faster while using less abrasive than conventional waterjets. Parts are cut with a lower cost per part, and more jobs are completed in less time.
"Flow invented Dynamic Waterjet in 2001, bringing a high level of accuracy and speed to 2D cutting. Cut speed is increased two to four times faster than conventional abrasive waterjets while producing parts with far higher precision. Now Flow brings that technology to bevel cutting and 3D parts with the patented Dynamic XD, enabling manufacturers to accurately cut a variety of intricate designs, often eliminating any secondary processing."
Application specialists will be on hand to answer questions and demonstrate how Flow's waterjet technology can help fabricators expand their capabilities.
