SMI Machine Tools has been appointed a distributor for YMT Inc. precision CNC machines in the southern region of Texas. YMT, headquartered in Brea, CA, imports Quaser vertical machining centers, horizontal machining centers and 5-axis machining centers; Kao Ming double column vertical machining centers; Quick Jet ultra high speed die-mold milling machines; YSP CNC vertical turning lathes; Detron precision rotary tables and YMT turning centers ranging from 8" to 18" chuck sizes.
We have searched some time for a machine tool manufacturer that builds a complete and quality line of products, said Scott Murray, President of SMI. We began looking at YMT products a while back and after doing further research, we found that the YMT group was a fit for SMI Machine Tools and what we are trying to accomplish. Thus far, we see that YMT is a company similar to SMI Machine Tools, dedicated to service and complete customer satisfaction.
YMT has a staff of service and application engineers and stocks $4 million worth of parts and accessories in California to serve North American manufacturing customers. YMT service engineers can perform complete machine tool rebuilds, retrofits, spindle repair and YMT stocks parts such as bearings, switches, cables, O-rings and all types of replacement parts for machine tool maintenance.
With over 21 years of machine tool and machine tool service experience, Scott Murray co-founded a machine tool dealership that eventually became SMI Machine Tools in 2008.
