Erickson Machine Tools Inc. has been appointed distributor for YMT Inc. precision CNC machines in the state of Iowa. YMT, headquartered in Brea, CA, imports Quaser vertical machining centers, horizontal machining centers and 5-axis machining centers; Kao Ming double column vertical machining centers; Quick Jet ultra high speed die-mold milling machines; YSP CNC vertical turning lathes; Detron precision rotary tables and YMT turning centers ranging from 8" to 18" chuck sizes.

YMT has a staff of service and application engineers and stocks $4 million worth of parts and accessories in California to serve North American manufacturing customers. YMT service engineers can perform complete machine tool rebuilds, retrofits, spindle repair and YMT stocks parts such as bearings, switches, cables, O-rings and all types of replacement parts for machine tool maintenance.

Erickson Machine Tool was founded in 1960 by Kenneth Erickson, Sr. primarily as a fabricating machinery sales company. The company expanded into CNC chipmaking machinery sales in the 1980s. Ken Erickson, Jr. is now CEO and the third generation, Kurt W. Erickson, is President.

This machine is equipped for 4-axis simultaneous contouring with a 5th axis for positioning. The Iowa territory assigned to Erickson Machine Tool has a great amount of agricultural industry but also a broad range of metalworking manufacturing industries throughout the state.
