Calmotion Introduces Advanced New CNC ControlJune 1, 2012
"The new 527F CNC control from Calmotion is a full-featured digital control engineered with easy-to-use command line prompts for quick set-up and flexible operation. Based on an embedded platform and multi-processor core, the 527F uses a parallel processing control architecture to ensure the fastest control loop updates possible without the burden of an operating system. Since each axis is controlled with its own digital signal processor, the 527F can handle a wide variety of 4- and 5-axis applications without any loss in block processing capability," said a Calmotion spokesperson.
The control provides both new and experienced users with a number of set-up features to aid the operator in getting the machine running quickly. In particular, the 527F features a powerful and flexible memory system for CNC file management. Two GB of user program space is standard. Ethernet connection and USB memory interface are also standard, which allows multiple ways for an operator to conveniently load and save files. Wireless capability can be easily added with commercially available wireless routers. Connection to a central server allows the operator to access NC files remotely on a network from the CNC without requiring any special network hardware or software.
"The 527F can be quickly and easily configured to the look and feel that is specific to any machine tool builder. A dedicated QWERTY keyboard allows a tremendous amount of flexibility to add all types of functionality for any machine tool. Soft keys of any kind can be added. Custom screen generation and panel design services are available upon request. Additional operator interfaces such as a multi-function jog handle, potentiometers, or dedicated one-button features can be specified as required," said the spokesperson.
