Fagor Automation now offers as standard on all 8055 MC series control systems, additional shop floor programming cycles for added customer flexibility and capability. Cycles include ID and OD Thread Milling, Part Skew Milling, Frame Milling, Ring Milling and Slot Milling cycles.
"All cycles are easily programmed in a conversational method utilizing a single screen allowing the customer to create the operation by simply entering in the part data directly from the blueprint, including roughing and finishing feedrates, spindle speeds and tools," said a company spokesperson. "A graphic help screen is further utilized to enhance programming ease and error free part program generation. In addition, utilizing a single graphic hot key, the customer has the ability to automatically jump to a Solid Graphic simulation of the operation thus creating an extremely fast and efficient error proof program.
"With the hot key cycle access feature, most canned cycles are simply a single key stroke away. Additional standard features still include a USB port for quick and easy program uploading that is now located on the keyboard. In addition, a 500 MB flash card is included as standard equipment. Also on-board as standard is the Fagor Profile Editor that acts as an on-board mini cad/cam system. The Profile Editor allows the customer to enter in the data directly off the blue print into a graphical editor that plots the tool path. When finished, the CNC automatically creates the tool path ISO G-code and automatically inserts into the part-program thus simplifying the programming of complex profiles.
"All 8055 MC Turnkey systems are capable of being equipped with a custom Engraving cycle that allows the customer to easily engrave words and numbers in a conversational type format. The engraving cycle is easily programmable due to the custom and intuitive graphical help screen and fill in the blank type format. The Engraving package is offered with the ability for character inclination and custom letter sizing.
"The 8055 MC retains its ICON key conversational operating system as standard plus the unique ability to provide online 3D G-code programming. However, the 8055 MC is also equipped as standard with an on-board Graphic Editor that allows for quick and easy custom screens and graphics creation. Customers now have the ability to create their own custom editors and graphic screens right on the CNC if they chose to, thus optimizing ease of use and efficiency.
"Optionally, Fagor is also offering a Conversational Digitizing software package that is easily called upon from the ICON key conversational operating system. Utilizing the Graphic screens and fill in the blank program format, now the Digitizing cycles can literally be programmed and put into execution in just a few minutes.
"Fagor also offers the ability to convert DXF Files automatically utilizing their WinDNC program. The Fagor WinDNC program is free of charge if downloaded from the company's website. The program also offers the ability to convert Fagor CNC 8010/8020/8025 programs to the Fagor CNC 8055 program format. This feature allows customers to utilize older CNC programs with the newer technology features equipped on the 8055 CNC Systems. DNC software also retains the ability to upload/download part programs, parameters and PLC programs, as well as CNC monitoring, drip feeding and program editing.
"All Fagor 8055 MC Turnkey Packages are equipped with an 11 inch high-resolution color LCD monitor as well as servo motor packages. All Fagor turnkey packages are built to customer specification and arrive fully functional."
