Mazak to Showcase at PRI 2013

FLORENCE, KY, Oct. 31, 2013 - At the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Show, taking place Dec. 12, 13 and 14 in Indianapolis, IN, Mazak will showcase its latest manufacturing technology for the high-precision machining of motorsports components.

Visitors to Mazak booth 5601 will experience cutting demonstrations on three of the company's newest machine tools that meet the demands and logistics of the motorsports industry: the INTEGREX i-200 Multi-Tasking Machine, VARIAXIS j-500 5X Vertical Machining Center and QUICK TURN NEXUS 250-II MSY Multi-Tasking Turning Center. Mazak application experts will also be available to provide guidance on how to further improve quality and shorten lead times in part production.

QUICK TURN NEXUS 250-II MSY Multi-Tasking Turning Center.

According to Brian Papke, president at Mazak Corporation, "Our manufacturing technology provides consistency in performance and precision along with the versatility to quickly adapt to changing and challenging conditions - the same qualities that are essential to putting a race team in the winner's circle."

The small-footprint INTEGREX i-200 Multi-Tasking Machine with 5-axis capabilities can produce medium and large size automotive parts in single setups, while the VARIAXIS j-500 5X uses its 5-axis rotary/tilt table to process complex parts such as engine and suspension components. The QUICK TURN NEXUS 250-II MSY Multi-Tasking Turning Center features milling, Y-axis capability as well as main and second turning spindles for productively processing medium and large size components in Done-In-One operations.

Mazak is a long-time technical sponsor of the Penske IZOD IndyCar and NASCAR racing teams. Both teams rely on Mazak's Multi-Tasking machines and production equipment for the production of critical racecar parts, including engine cylinder heads, intake manifolds and suspension brackets. Penske maintains "the team couldn't do what it does on the racetrack without Mazak machine tool technology."
