Manufacturing Tool Search Application

Easy to use menu: icTools offers simple navigation within a list of manufacturing tool types. The user is presented with tool-specific criteria required to precisely define and quickly return search results for a targeted tool.

Fast search results: Users can add a tool to the "ToolBox" and quickly e-mail RFQs to preferred vendors or distributors. Short, descriptive tutorial videos are available at www.ictools.net.

icTools, a Windows application for machine shops, is designed to provide complete tool search, selection and request for quote (RFQ) delivery in minutes - all without writing down a single part number or making any notes.

"Tools commonly searched for page by page in catalogs can be difficult and time consuming to find," said a company spokesperson. "This frustrating and sometimes confusing process can now be accomplished with a few clicks of a mouse. icTool's databases provide results that match the user's selection criteria. Then, the selected product data is formatted into a RFQ that can then be automatically e-mailed to the user's preferred vendor for the particular manufacturer's product."

Searchable items include:

  • Machine tools
  • Cutting tools and tool holders
  • Workholding equipment
  • Measuring tools.

icTools is designed for use by manufacturing professionals, including:

  • Manufacturing engineers and machining process consultants
  • CNC machine tool applications specialists and CNC programmers
  • Machine shop management
  • Quality assurance inspectors and purchasing agents.

icTools is free for use through 2014. The initial release of icTools will feature Mazak machine tools, Schunk workholding and Sandvik cutting tools. Additional manufacturers will be offered in 2014. Subscription rates for use in 2015 will be announced during the fourth quarter 2014.
