ROI Calculator Determines Welding Training Savings

Lincoln Electric offers an online calculator that can be used to determine the return on investment (ROI) of installing virtual reality welding training simulators. The calculator tabulates the cost and potential savings of utilizing a virtual welding training program in multiple areas such as material costs, welding gas and electricity.

"The calculator takes into account the cost of base metal, welding wire and rod, welding gas and electricity cost," said Deanna Postlethwaite, Virtual Reality Welding Training Business Unit Manager. "After entering the information related to your training program, you can instantly see the estimated savings.

"This payback calculator uses real conditions and real numbers to help welding instructors determine how the VRTEX virtual reality welding training system from Lincoln Electric could decrease costs in welding training programs. The VRTEX 360 and the VRTEX Mobile training systems use the latest technology to immerse the student in a realistic and exciting training experience. The VRTEX training systems have proven to increase welding training efficiency, improve training results and reduce welding training time."

Once the VRTEX training system is implemented, welding instructors can continue to monitor, track and verify savings with the Weldometer Instructor Tool built into the virtual welding simulator. The Weldometer tool tracks material usage, welding time, gases and consumables.

The free online calculator can be found at www.lincolnelectric.com/roicalculator.
