Horizontal Turning Center with Live Turret Designed for Fast Tool Indexing

Fortune International Inc., an importer and distributor of Victor Taichung Machinery Works, now offers the Vturn-40CV horizontal turning center with VDI-50 live turret. According to the company, a one piece 86" center slant bed lathe with homogenous Meehanite casting is designed to distribute stress throughout the structure. "To ensure perfect alignment in the machine structure, the bed is machined in a single set-up on a large five-face machining center," said a company spokesperson.

According to the company, the machine's built-in 60 HP spindle (DDS - Direct Drive Spindle) with dual winding spindle motor offers 27% more torque output at low spindle speed than a conventional belt-driven spindle. "A 2-step gearbox is included as standard with 15-inch Kitagawa chuck for utmost part surface finish quality," said the spokesperson.

Spindle oil cooler is included as standard to prolong bearing service life. "High volume coolant flush onto the Z-axis cover helps to reduce the chip built up inside the machine," said the spokesperson.

The machine's VDI-50 Servo driving turret is engineered and manufactured by Victor Taichung. "This face mounted 12-station turret allows for fast tool indexing of 0.3 seconds (tool to tool)," said the spokesperson. "A carriage supports the heavy turret steadily for reliable and continuous turning."
