Selway Machine Tool Company is moving from its building in Buena Park to a newly renovated modern office and showroom in Ontario, CA. Matsuura, Japanese manufacturer of high-speed machining centers, will be partnering in the facility to open the Matsuura West Coast Technical Center and Showroom (MWCTC). Selway Machine Tool's automation division, Trinity Automation, will be moving into the facility as well, and will be using the space for showcasing and assembly.
"With the acquisition of Trinity Robotics' last year, we needed office space for programming and a shop floor for automation cell assembly and fabrication," said Mark Selway, Sales Manager, Selway Machine Tool Co. "Add to that Selway Machine Tool's sales and service staff, parts warehouse and machine showroom we simply outgrew Buena Park."
"Selway Machine Tool's Southern California coverage extends from San Diego to Ventura," said Bill Selway, Selway Machine Tool Co. "Factoring in L.A. traffic, Ontario places us in the middle, right off the 10 and 15. This location allows our local customers to by-pass L.A. traffic, and with the Ontario airport so close by, we can fly customers into the new showroom and the MWCTC.
"We are extremely excited to open the new building. On any given day there will be at least a dozen machine models and robotic automation cells under power and ready for demonstration. The unique building design highlights both the Matsuura product line as well as the many other manufacturing solutions Selway Machine offers."
A third of the building will be dedicated to being a Matsuura showroom and training facility. It will showcase a line-up of machining centers from precision, small production verticals like the VX-1000 to a 32 pallet, 5-axis, 520 tool horizontal, the MAM 72-35V. Full time Matsuura technical engineers and sales staff will be onsite.
Selway Machine Tool Co, and its automation division, Trinity Robotics Automation, are set to occupy the remaining two-thirds of the new Ontario space. The shared showroom will display the lineup of machining centers Selway carries in Southern California, including the large Quantum QV5-3000 5-axis machining center. Machines from Eurotech, Hwacheon, HMG and Hydmech will share floor space with FANUC robotic cell systems. The newly built modern office space will be staffed with Selway and Trinity sales, service and application personnel. The building will be fully operational in October with a grand opening soon after.
