Manufacturing Summit Set for Middle Managers and Leaders



The Shingo Institute, part of the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University, will hold its Shingo Manufacturing Summit September 19-21 in Knoxville, TN, at the Marriott Knoxville. The main subjects of the summit are the ways in which leaders and middle managers of manufacturing can improve their organizations.

"Keynote speakers will include leaders who are experts at transforming organizational culture and improving results through understanding of operational excellence principles embedded in the Shingo Model," said a spokesperson.

Speakers will include:

  • Dean Jablonsky, Director of Global Healthcare, Boston Scientific
  • William (Don) Tracy, Director, Denso Manufacturing Tennessee, Inc.
  • Pamela Adams, CI Champion, Kubota Manufacturing of America
  • Norbert Majerus, Lean Champion and Author, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.
  • Michael Muilenburg, Manager of Operational Technology Office & Strategic Planning, 3M.

Topics discussed will include:

  • How to transform processes with ideas from associates
  • The role of lean in achieving operational excellence
  • How to align your lean initiative to maximize full business potential
  • Molding your organization toward the Shingo Model.

In addition to the main summit, there will be separate workshops available on special topics. These include:
