Hermle North America Announces Change in Leadership Structure

(l-r) Gunther Schnitzer, VP of Sales and Engineering; Manuel Merkt, VP of Operations; and Eric Olender, VP of Technical Services

Hermle North America has announced a change in leadership structure with a new "3EO" team. "The change is a shift away from traditional company structure and will feature three of Hermle's best team members, all leaders in their respective fields, who will share duties and responsibility," said a Hermle spokesperson.

Manuel Merkt will lead Hermle's operations as Vice President of Operations, Gunther Schnitzer will oversee the sales and engineering teams as VP of Sales and Engineering, and Eric Olender will serve as VP of Technical Services, overseeing the parts, service and IT departments.

"I am really excited about this reshaping of our leadership team, as it will benefit all our customers, and allow Hermle to continue to deliver on our promise of best-in-class performance and service," said Schnitzer. "With the new `3EO' model, we are confident that each of our individual areas of expertise can be utilized to the fullest advantage."

Merkt and Schnitzer followed similar paths, working their way up through the ranks of the company in Germany while studying to advance their knowledge in the field of engineering. Merkt began as an industrial engineer before moving to the U.S. to further his career with Hermle. Schnitzer has been with Hermle for over 15 years in a variety of roles, contributing to the applications, customer service and sales departments.

Eric Olender is the only member of the team born and raised on American soil. His interest in manufacturing and machining began at an early age as his father spent many years working on CNC machines in the Milwaukee area. Eric brings a deep knowledge of CNC 5-axis machining and a strong understanding of the North American manufacturing world.

"We are often asked why we chose Milwaukee for our North American headquarters. Milwaukee has a rich industrial and manufacturing history, and we are proud to be part of that history and its exciting future," said Merkt.
