December Fastener Training Week comes to Los Angeles area

Fastener Training Week, an advanced technical training program, is scheduled Dec. 2-6 in La Miranda, CA. This LA area training is for fastener distributors and manufacturers, end users and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The course is offered by The Fastener Training Institute, a nonprofit organization that provides training on fastener products and standards, in partnership with the Industrial Fasteners Institute.

Fastener Training Week offers five intensive days of education and plant tours as part of the acclaimed FTI Certified Fastener Specialist (CFS) advanced technical training program. After completing this training in a small group environment and passing a final exam, attendees are eligible for the Certified Fastener Specialist (CFS) designation.

This year’s Fastener Training Week will feature learning labs, interactive exercises and quizzes to reinforce learning taught by industry experts Salim Brahimi, IFI Director of Engineering Technology, Laurence Claus, NNi Training and Consulting, and Carmen Vertullo, AIM Testing Laboratory. Timely topics include manufacturing processes, consensus standards, quality control and a day of plant tours of manufacturing, secondary processes and testing facilities. Participants will tour B & B Specialties, The Lab, R & D Fasteners and ND Industries.

Given the advanced technical nature of this program, it is highly recommended that participants have at least two years’ experience in fastener sales, purchasing, manufacturing or quality assurance. Registration includes three full days and two half days of training, educational materials, continental breakfast and lunch, transportation for plant tours, certification of completion and eligibility for the Certified Fastener Specialist designation.
