MicroCare to Share Expertise on Safer Cleaning with Free Webinar May 26

MicroCare LLC will share its knowledge of safe cleaning solutions when it hosts the webinar "Avoid the Pitfalls: Converting Away from TCE and nPB in your cleaning Process."

Featured on the Products Finishing website on May 26, 2021, it will investigate why now is the right time to replace legacy cleaning fluids used within a vapor degreaser with safer alternatives.

nPB (n-Propyl Bromide) and TCE (Trichloroethylene) have been widely used as effective and reliable industrial cleaners for many years. They are however under scrutiny by a number of governing bodies including the U.S. EPA (Environmental Protection Agency).

David Ferguson, MicroCare Senior Technical Manager, said, “It is unclear when a complete nPB or TCE ban will happen in the U.S., but the phaseout is definite and coming soon. Many experts anticipate that there will most likely be a comprehensive ban on nPB by the EPA as early as 2023.

“nPB is already sunset or banned in Europe as of July 2020, so we expect to see many other countries following in the near future. For this reason, it is really important to start to plan the transition to sustainable cleaning fluids that are less hazardous for workers and better for the environment.

“The webinar will provide the audience with an insight into the regulations of TCE and nPB and how to seamlessly make the change to a safer and better alternative cleaning fluid,” Ferguson concluded.

Together with Ferguson, Rob Lee, Senior Market and Technical Manager, and Sam Lindeyer, MicroCare Chemist, will present Avoid the Pitfalls: Converting Away from TCE and nPB in your cleaning Process.

The team of experts will provide helpful tips on how to start the conversion to a better replacement cleaning fluid providing information on equipment requirements, including any necessary upgrades and modifications to existing equipment.

The hourlong webinar will also offer advice on choosing the right replacement cleaning fluid for specific soils and substrates, without sacrificing cleaning performance.
