November 4-6: Dallas to Host Manufacturing Technology Series SOUTHWEST

The Manufacturing Technology Series SOUTHWEST, produced by SME and AMT – The Association for Manufacturing Technology, will take place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Nov. 4 to 6, 2025. After more than 20 years in Houston, the event, formerly known as HOUSTEX, is returning to Dallas in response to growing attendee demand and the region’s rise as a hub for diverse manufacturing sectors.

The Manufacturing Technology Series unites four regional events, EAST, WEST, SOUTHEAST, and SOUTHWEST under one umbrella, creating a transformative platform for manufacturers across North America. The series connects decision-makers from diverse industries with suppliers of advanced technologies, fostering collaboration, innovation and workforce growth.

Texas has long been recognized as a manufacturing powerhouse, ranking first among all 50 states in exports of manufactured goods and second in overall factory production. The state’s business-friendly climate, competitive labor costs and central location make it an attractive hub for companies of all sizes. In Dallas alone, more than 9.2 million sq. ft. of manufacturing space has been added in the past five years, fueling the region’s rise as the nation’s top metropolitan area for manufacturing in 2024.

“Dallas has become a critical hub for manufacturing innovation, and we’re excited to bring the Manufacturing Technology Series here for the first time since 2001,” said Dave Morton, SME Group Director, Manufacturing Technology Series. “This event gives small and medium-sized manufacturers across the region direct access to advanced technologies, workforce development tools and industry leaders shaping the future of U.S. manufacturing.”

Manufacturing Technology Series SOUTHWEST connects 3,000 industry professionals, 150+ exhibitors and 100+ new product launches across 28,000 sq. ft. of advanced manufacturing solutions.

Programming highlights include:

·       Executive Perspectives Keynote Series – Thought leadership panels featuring executives from leading manufacturers and technology providers.

·       Smart Manufacturing Experience Exhibits – Showcasing innovations in robotics, automation, cybersecurity, and AI-driven manufacturing.

·       Town Hall Roundtable with NIST & White House OSTP – Shaping the 2026–2030 National Strategic Plan for Advanced Manufacturing through industry input.
