3/4-Inch Steel Coil Pickling Ability

Feralloy Corporation announced that Indiana Pickling and Processing (IPPC), its joint venture with Signode Corporation, will complete a $7 million capitalization project in summer 2013. "The last phase of the investment will make IPPC fully capable to pickle coils with gauges up to 3/4 of an inch, a unique capability in the market. The pickling line was reconfigured to increase the capacity to pickle coils up to 0.750" X 72" A36 grade. Quality and productivity are enhanced with new pre-cleaning and leveling capabilities," said a company spokesperson.

As part of the project, IPPC also invested in a new building to store 30,000 tons of material. IPPC will have the capacity to offer a storage-pickling combination service for customers that buy large steel coil lots from steel mills located in the Midwest Region.
