Güdel to Demonstrate Extended-Range Welding System at FABTECH 2026
October 23, 2026As workpieces grow in size, maintaining weld quality while increasing the robot's operating range becomes increasingly challenging. At FABTECH 2026 in Las Vegas, October 21-23, Güdel will show a demo featuring how manufacturers can increase automated welding capabilities while maintaining the precision and repeatability required for demanding fabrication. The live cell presents a FANUC ArcMate 120iD robot mounted on a Güdel 7th axis track and equipped with a Wire Wizard end-of-arm tool.
Güdel's precision-engineered linear motion systems far extend the ranges offered by stationary robots both horizontally and vertically, while delivering +- .02mm repeatability needed for consistent weld placement. The result is a larger work envelope without compromising accuracy.
The optional combination of Güdel's TMF (TrackMotion Floor) and TMV (TrackMotion Vertical), tracks can expand the work envelope even further, creating a flexible solution for large weldments, structural components, heavy fabrications, and oversized assemblies. By combining horizontal and vertical motion, a single robotic system can access more of the workpiece while reducing the need for repositioning or additional equipment.
