New Generation VMC Series with Enhanced Stability

The ecoMill 1100 V features the DMG MORI Multi-Touch SLIMline control.

ecoMill 600 V

ecoMill 800 V

The ECOLINE range of machining centers, consisting of the ecoMill 600 V, ecoMill 800 V and ecoMill 1100 V, can accommodate workpieces weighing 600 kg, 800 kg and 1,000 kg respectively and feature a traverse X-axis of 600 mm, 800 mm and 1,100 mm. "The latest ecoMill V series is the completely revised ECOLINE New Design and features improved working ergonomics and a high degree of stability," said a company spokesperson. "The new 19 inch DMG MORI Multi-Touch SLIMline Control with SIEMENS is the next step for an innovative and modern user interface. The new ecoMill V design series is also available with DMG MORI SLIMline Panel (15 inch/MAPPS IV on FANUC)."

Positioning accuracy is 6 µm (without direct scales) due to direct coupling in X/Y and there is no belt drive to eliminate backlash. Tool changing time can be achieved in up to 1.3 seconds. In total, the cutting speed has been increased by up to 25%. An optimized machine structure also increases stability during machining, and in the standard version there are 30 tool pockets in the tool magazine.

All three ecoMill V models feature compact design and large working areas. They have a Y-axis travel distance of 560 mm and room for components with a maximum workpiece weight of 600 kg (ecoMill 600 V), 800 kg (ecoMill 800 V) and 1,000 kg (ecoMill 1100 V). The user can position the optional chip conveyor at the rear of the machine or on the left-hand side, depending on the space situation.

"The new ecoMill V series has finishes made from anodized aluminum that are more robust and scratch-resistant, and powder-coated metal cladding is designed to make the machine cladding more durable and increase stability," said the spokesperson. The safety windows are attached in such a way that they can be replaced from the outside if they become damaged. An optional window with access to the tool magazine also makes it possible to equip the tools during production. The machines feature better table accessibility for ergonomic loading and unloading, scratch- and wear-resistant surfaces for higher reliability and FEM optimized cast iron C-frame design with around 1 ton more machine weight.

Large doors are designed to make loading and unloading easier. The table height of 850 mm and the short distance to the table (313 mm) are designed to be convenient for the operator.

The new DMG MORI Multi-Touch SLIMline Control (19"/Operate on SIEMENS/400 V) with a high screen resolution and touch operations is designed to be practical, user friendly and ergonomically optimized. Users can simulate the machining process in advance in 3-D. The optimized panel swivels 45° and is intuitive. The new DMG MORI Multi-Touch SLIMline Control (19"/Operate on SIEMENS/400 V) has a 4 GB capacity instead of 5 MB in comparison with previous versions. The new ecoMill V design series is also available with DMG MORI SLIMline Panel (15"/MAPPS IV on FANUC).
