Methods Nakamura-Tome Tech Days

Methods Machine Tools, Inc. will host Nakamura-Tome Tech Days May 11-12, 2016, from 10 AM to 5 PM each day at the company's corporate showroom and technology center located at 71 Union Avenue, Sudbury, MA. The two-day event will feature the latest Nakamura-Tome multitasking turning centers and strategies for machining precision parts.

"Attendees can witness firsthand the wide range of new machines and multitasking solutions that will be on display, coupled with informative, engaging seminars," said Bryon Deysher, Methods Machine Tools President and CEO.

Seven Nakamura-Tome machines will be under power with live demonstrations, including:

• New NTRX-300 ATC multitasking turning center featuring complete parts machining in one operation, with a built-in load/unload automation system and advanced operator recognition management software.

• NTJ-100 multitasking turning center with twin spindle, a B-axis upper turret and Y-axis lower turret. Applications range from low to high volume lots of medical, aerospace, general job shop components and more.

• WY-100 with twin spindle and twin turrets equipped with Y-axis, rigid construction, 48 tools and up to 24 live positions. Features include pinch milling, drilling and turning, as well as off center interpolative functions that can be performed on both spindles.

• NTMX twin ATC multitasking B-axis lathe offers easy access and set-up approach via two front ATC locations and the ability to change inserts without stopping the machine.

• NTY3-250 and NTY3 three turret, three Y-axis machines allow one-pass, complete turning/machining/finishing and reduced part cycle times.

• AS-200 LMYS twin spindle, single turret offers an upgraded long bed with sub spindle. “The machine is equipped with a powerful milling drive and a high-speed, high accuracy C-axis and 82 mm stroke Y-axis,” said a company spokesperson.

In addition, industry leaders will present seminars on both days. Seminars include:

• "Y Do You Need Y-Axis" - Rich Parenteau, Methods' Director of Application Development and Nakamura-Tome Product Manager, along with Ken Corklin, Methods' Dealer Technical Support Manager, will address the benefits of using the Y-axis in order to reduce the cost per piece and explain the primary capabilities that make it efficient and cost effective.

• "New NTRX-300 B-Axis Platform" - Rich Parenteau will provide an in-depth review of the features of this compact, heavy-duty multitasking machining center.

• "New Smart-X Nakamura PC-Based Control" - Jundi Oyama, Nakamura-Tome International Sales Manager for the U.S., will review the latest developments of the new Nakamura-Tome “Smart X” operating system for its PC-based control that is fully loaded with a FANUC 31I-A5 5-axis control and many new Nakamura features that are designed for even inexperienced operators, such as a user-friendly Icon Menu, Production Monitoring, Trouble Guidance and Operation Level Control Functions.
