Expanded Tow Tractor and Stockchaser Lines

Taylor-Dunn, part of Polaris Inc., has enhanced its TT-316 and C-425 tow tractors and SC-100 24 and 36 volt stockchasers with AC motors. "The all-new TT-316, C-425 and SC-100 provide the same reliable service in rugged applications as the previous DC models with increased durability, performance and operator safety," said a company spokesperson.

"At Taylor-Dunn, we are constantly listening to our customers and working on ways we can help them enhance efficiency on the job - which often means making updates to our current line of products," said Alex Taylor, Product Manager, Taylor-Dunn. "This is exactly what we have done with the TT-316, C-425 and SC-100. The new AC models optimize productivity by further reducing required maintenance and improving overall vehicle performance."

Safety Attributes

The updated TT-316 features enhanced brake control while continuing to provide automatic brake activation on gas pedal release and an automatic parking brake. A new optional blue pedestrian light is now available for increased visibility. Additionally, the tow tractor includes a reverse beeper, operator presence sensor, high visibility LED headlight and combination taillights.

The C-425 now has a rotary forward reverse switch with a built-in LED safety indicator that turns red when tow tractor is in reverse and green when in forward to alert operators that the vehicle is under power. Additionally, an updated display now includes a speedometer for better operator awareness.

SC-100 enhancements include a new rotary forward reverse switch with built-in LED indicators that display red in reverse and green in forward, as well as an updated display with included speedometer. Additionally, an optional LED headlight and taillight provide better visibility, as well as a longer light life.

Durability Improvements

The new TT-316 includes redesigned battery doors to prevent accidental tripping of the battery door switch, and a new master cylinder guard was added to protect from forklift damage. These updates help decrease vehicle downtime due to maintenance or damage repair and increase job-site efficiency.

The C-425 now features a larger battery compartment, allowing for a bigger battery, increased vehicle range and reduced downtime. A new cab option makes the tow tractor suitable for outdoor use without the worry of increased wear and tear due to adverse weather conditions.

All three models also feature an AC motor that eliminates the need for brush replacement, increasing efficiency by reducing maintenance downtime.

Performance Features

An all-new 36-volt AC efficient motor coupled with a powerful GT drive enhances performance while towing up to 15,000 lbs. for the C-425, 16,000 lbs. for the TT-316, and 5,000 lbs. for the SC-100. The new AC motor is also designed to provide better performance on inclines. "Additionally, the new models maintain rugged all-steel construction and easy maneuverability through narrow spaces, ensuring reliable service for years to come," said the spokesperson.

Additional standard options for the TT-316 include inching, 8 mph drive and battery slide strips.

Service parts for the DC models will continue to be supported for the next seven years. The SC-100 48V will continue to operate with a DC motor.
