American Iron to Offer Versa-Bar from Houston

American Iron (AIA), a processor and distributor of continuous cast iron, bronze bar, tubing and other metal components based in Waukesha, WI, is opening an additional location in Houston, TX. AIA, a Lawton Standard company, primarily focuses on ductile and gray iron in round, square and rectangular bars under the Versa-Bar brand.

"It has been a longstanding plan for us to distribute in Texas," said Rick Janes, President of American Iron. "We can offer more flexible alternatives to buyers in a broad range of sizes. But we do not just create stock parts-we build a custom supply program for each of our local customers. We build to the market need, not just offer a commodity. This new location will allow us to better serve our customers across Texas and the surrounding states."

Initially, AIA Waukesha will provide three truckloads of Versa-Bar continuous cast iron stock to the Houston location. Houston will have a saw to provide cut-to-length pieces of Versa-Bar. A lathe will be installed soon for turning and boring to provide specific inside and outside diameters and cut-to-length pieces to customers in the Texas area.

Outside of the initial Versa-Bar offerings, AIA will supplement all other needs for Texas customers from its Waukesha location and sister companies around the nation, including five foundries and several distribution locations.
