IMTS 2026: Blum-Novotest to Highlight Laser, Probing and Data Making Lights Out Manufacturing

Visitors are invited to come by the Blum booth to learn more about LC54-DIGILOG tool for measurement and monitoring in micromachining, which sets new standards in precision, compactness and process reliability, and MG51 multipurpose measuring device is a compact device that is specially developed for sensor-based status assessment of clamping systems, according to the company. Blum will also give an IMTS conference presentation on Sept. 16 on unattended laser and probing measurement that make lights out manufacturing real.
The highlight of this year’s show is the new LC54-DIGILOG, the most compact laser measuring system in the LaserControl DIGILOG series to date. It was specially developed for tool measurement and monitoring in micromachining, the system sets new standards in precision, compactness and process reliability. The demands on precision in micromachining are constantly growing – especially when it comes to measuring extremely small tools.

Blum-Novotest will be presenting a session at the IMTS 2026 Conference called “Unattended by Design: Laser, Probing, and Data That Make Lights Out Real” on Wednesday September 16, 2026 at 9 AM CDT in Room W192-B. Attendees may join Blum National Sales Manager Scott Sargent, who will demonstrate how laser measurement systems dense measurement stream boost process reliability. He will also show how visualization software provides instant actionable data for operators and engineers, and how precision probing standardizes setups in minutes. With in‑process measurement, you can detect wear and breakage before it becomes scrap, correct offsets automatically, validate geometry inside the machine, achieve true “first-part-right” and ultimately run longer without an operator standing next to the machine. The second solution that BLUM will present at IMTS is the MG81 multipurpose measuring device. It is a compact system that integrates the transmission system and sensor technology directly into the clamping systems, so it is possible to record important process data in real time during machining. This includes the current workpiece temperature, the clamping pressure, the presence of the workpiece and the clamping jaw position. This means the machining center can access and react to the process-relevant data of the clamping device at any time.”
