DMG MORI offers its third generation of vertical machining centers, the DMC 850 V and DMC 1150 V, featuring improved technical specifications.
The design of the vertical spindle range is based on a cast mineral machine bed on which the cast iron column rests. This forms the base for the XY slideways. The machine table is fixed and incorporated into the machine bed, enabling table loads of 1,000 kg with the DMC 850 V and 1,500 kg with the DMC 1150 V. The clamping surface is 1,100 x 570 mm and 1,400 x 750 mm, respectively. Generously sized guides and ball screw drives help ensure high stability. "This self-contained concept is a contrast to the cross table design prevalent in the market," said a company spokesperson. "The moving masses are always the same regardless of the workpiece weight, and the constant dynamic behavior has a positive effect on component accuracy."
The rapid traverse speed is 36 m/min on all axes. Cooling of the ball screw nuts and linear guideways dissipates friction heat for increased accuracy. The DMC 850 V and the DMC 1150 V feature extended travels of 850 x 520 x 475 mm and 1,150 x 700 x 550 mm.
Along with the basic 14,000 RPM/121 Nm spindle, optional speeds up to 24,000 RPM are also available. An SK 50/HSK A100 motorized spindle with 10,000 RPM and 303 Nm is designed to provide adequate reserves for heavy-duty chip removal. The tool magazine with 20 pockets as standard can optionally be extended to 120 pockets. Designed for use in workshops and component manufacturing, the range may also be utilized in single part production, heavy machining and serial production combined with various automation solutions.
The machining centers feature the new DMG MORI design, which is engineered for more functionality, user friendliness and ability to hold their value. Large safety glass windows provide enhanced visibility into the work area for better monitoring of the manufacturing process. In addition, the windows can be removed from the outside, which facilitates easy removal when servicing is required. The finely textured long-life surfaces in the working area are designed to provide increased scratch resistance and better protection against damage. The new DMG MORI design is available in black or white for increased individuality at no additional cost.
The range is available with the 19" ERGOline with HEIDENHAIN TNC640 and Operate 4.5 on SIEMENS 840D solutionline and more recently with CELOS from DMG MORI with 21.5" ERGOline and SIEMENS.
