Absolute Machine Partners with ServiceMax, Expanding Customer Support

Absolute Machine Tools, Inc. has teamed up with ServiceMax, a field service software solution provider, to expand even further its ISO-certified Preventive Maintenance Program by offering customers answers to their service-related questions at any time. The ServiceMax cloud-based solution allows engineers and technicians access to a facility's plant maintenance plan at all times via an iPad or Windows-based PC app, providing real-time service solutions.

"Absolute Machine Tool's mission is to help machine shops and manufacturing facilities improve their production processes to be more competitive in a tough global environment," said a company spokesperson. "Its preventative maintenance plans help customers prevent unplanned downtime by evaluating machinery, recommending repairs and performing machine maintenance at regularly scheduled intervals. Downtime due to machine wear or neglect can be eliminated 100% of the time with the correct maintenance program in place."

ServiceMax software allows technicians and facility managers to manage the entire work process - from work order to recalls to service. It applies preset data collection functions as well as usable metrics to track how many applications have been run on a given machine, along with part replacement patterns and previous service, providing technicians with a means to quickly determine issues without a site visit.

When a site visit is necessary, the technician can specify proper parts from an inventory that is reflected on the screen and is maintained according to the facility's replacement and repair record. "Cost savings are significant because paperwork is reduced and repeat service visits due to part inventory shortage are eliminated," said the spokesperson.
