New Saw Lineup

SKILSAW has introdued three professional metalcutting grade saws, including an 8" Worm Drive Metal Saw, a 12" Dry Cut Saw and a 14" Abrasive Chop Saw.

The SKILSAW 8" OUTLAW Worm Drive Saw for metal, model SPT78MMC, is available with a Diablo Cermet blade (SPT78MMC-22) or a SKILSAW Carbide blade (SPT78MMC-01). "It is the first true worm drive specifically optimized to cut through metal," said a company spokesperson. The Worm Drive design and left-side blade offers enhanced ergonomics and ease of use and a dual-field motor provides more power, precision and durability.

"In addition to being the industry's first metalcutting saw to feature a blade window for added visibility, jobsite pros will value OUTLAW's largest available chip tray which holds 33% more material," said the spokesperson.

Gregg Mangialardi SKILSAW Group Product Manager said, "Metal cutting is one of the most demanding applications for any power tool and our SPT78MMC 8" OUTLAW is built specifically to handle the job."

The SPT62MTC 12" Dry Cut Saw is also available with a Diablo Cermet blade (SPT62MTC-22) or a SKILSAW carbide blade (SPT62MTC-01) for fast, clean cuts and great precision. Weighing in at 38.2 lbs. (not including the blade cord and wrench), the SPT62MTC allows for easy jobsite transportation. It also features a 15-amp motor, a soft-start to reduce torque and extend the motor life, and a 4-1/2" cut depth in a compact frame. Other key features of the OUTLAW include a depth-of-cut stop that easily adjusts for materials of different sizes and shapes and on-tool wrench storage for quick and convenient blade changes.

The SKILSAW SPT64MTA-01 14" Abrasive Cut Off Saw comes packaged with a powertrain for optimal power and versatility needed for various metalcutting applications both in the shop and out on the jobsite. "With a stamped steel base that is 11" x 18-1/2" and a total weight of 33.9 lbs. (not including the blade cord and wrench), the SPT64MTA-01 provides excellent stability when cutting large loads and maintains a lightweight frame for excellent portability," said the spokesperson. Professionals also have the ability to perform +/- 45° miter cuts and can adjust for different sizes and shapes of materials. Additional features include heat-treated ball bearings that are mounted on the motor gearings for longer life under heavy loads and are constructed with a steel base, chip deflector and guards for added toughness and durability.

Mangialardi said, "These saws are designed for demanding metalcutting tasks such as metal studs, unistrut, threaded rod, rigid conduit, rebar, sheet metal, angle iron and even steel tubing."
