New Swiss-Type Automatic Lathe at WESTEC

A manufacturer of Swiss-type turning machines, Star CNC Machine Tool Co. will introduce a solution from its line of 38 mm sliding headstock lathes.
The SX-38 is designed using slant bed construction to provide rigidity for the turret mounted tooling. The B-axis is a servo driven axis for positioning or surfacing for those difficult to generate designs. With the B-axis unit supported on both ends, heavier cuts are possible while maintaining fine finishes. When the part does not require a guide bushing, it can be removed allowing a maximum machining diameter of 42 mm.
