Linear Motor Machines for Moldmaking

Asia Pacific Elite Corp. (APEC), a subsidiary of TTGroup, offers moldmaking solutions as well as state-of-the-art 5-axis large-scale machining centers designed to satisfy the requirements of aerospace, automotive and die and mold.

"These products feature the performance, flexibility and reliability essential to the production of complex parts as well as manufacturing of plastic molds, castings, forging dies and other precision tooling," said a spokesperson. "APEC also offers comprehensive customer services including factory planning, intelligent manufacturing, technical training, process upgrades and turn-key solutions.

According to the company, APEC solutions include:

  • 5-axis machining: 5-axis simultaneous machining produces the best die surface
  • Linear motor drive system: X- and Y-axis driven by linear motor provides excellent dynamics and static rigidity. The rapid feedrate of the axis is up to 60 m/min and the acceleration is up to 0.5G ~ 0.7G. The structure is simple and easy to maintain without transmission power loss.
  • 2-axis head driven by direct drive motor: With spindle choices of either HSK 63 or HSK100 and 30,000 RPM spindles, along with the high torque direct drive motor system of 2-axis heads, excellent surface finishes are achieved. All AGA APEC 2-axis heads are suitable for complex curved surface machining with increased accuracies, high resolution and high-speed machining.
  • Flawless parts are critical in die and mold machining: Due to the features of 5-axis machining with linear motor drive system and shorter tools applied, the surface finishes are generally very glossy and product surfaces remain flat.
  • Significantly reduced cycle times: 5-axis high speed machining and single set-up with high accuracy can shorten the processing time and eliminate the need for post machining processes such as EDM and hand bench work.
  • High contour accuracy: Well-balanced dynamic characteristics of all APEC machines allow for an enhanced 5-axis machine that produces high quality surface finishes of the core and cavity of molds.

All APEC machines are supported by APEC and CNC North American factory technicians. APEC machines are imported by CNC Systems Inc. with locations in California and New England.
