Oden Technologies Appoints Chief Technology Officer

Oden Technologies announced that Deepak Turaga has been promoted to Chief Technology Officer. In this role, Turaga will be responsible for leading the technical vision and direction of the company, as well as overseeing the development of its innovative industrial analytics software solution.

Previous to Oden Technologies, Turaga was a distinguished research staff member and manager of the AI First ML and Planning group at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center. He holds a B.Tech. from Indian Institute of Technology and Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. He has published over 100 journal and conference papers and one book on large-scale data stream processing. He has been an Adjunct Professor of Electrical Engineering at Columbia University since 2009.

"Deepak joined us over four years ago as VP of data science and has been instrumental in driving our vision and execution ever since," said Willem Sundblad, co-founder and CEO of Oden Technologies. "This new role reflects his growth as a technologist and leader in driving intelligent automation in manufacturing. I am very excited to continue to see Deepak grow as an individual and continue to deliver world-class, differentiating technology that drives value for our customers every day."

Turaga's deep understanding of data science, the manufacturing space and technology has been instrumental in the company's strong growth. "While heading the company's data science and engineering teams as the senior vice president of data science and engineering, Turaga led transformations to make Oden a leader in using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to advance manufacturing processes," said a spokesperson. "Now, Oden processes over a billion production events daily, enables contextual analysis through disparate sources and continuously delivers AI-generated predictions and recommendations that enable peak performance directly to factory floor staff."

"Our team is able to work on incredibly complex problems that lie at the intersection of manufacturing, distributed computing and AI," said Turaga. "The result is deeply rewarding, as we get to improve operations and engineering teams' day to day and help our customers solve their biggest problems to drive efficiency and sustainability. I am incredibly excited to be moving into this new role with Oden and to continue on the great work we get to do."
