ESAB Names President of the Americas

Eleanor Lukens

ESAB Corporation recently appointed Eleanor Lukens as President of the Americas, with responsibility for managing the Fabrication Technology business and providing oversight to ESAB's operations in the region. Lukens brings over 35 years of global industrial experience to the role, with a career marked by successful leadership across industries.

"The fabrication industry is a cornerstone to industrial manufacturing around the world," said Lukens. "And the global fabrication industry is experiencing a time of incredible innovation spurred by developments in robotics, automation and digitalization, often driven by the underlying demand for skilled fabricators. At ESAB, we know that we play a critical role in innovating for the future, and driving development and passion for people to enter the industry."

Lukens continued, "I hope to use my experiences and new position to influence and mentor more women to enter the field of welding. Welding careers are quite diverse and can be extremely lucrative-we just need to encourage the next generation to consider this industry. Early in my career, I had the opportunity to work in the oil fields, often as the only women on the team. I gained invaluable engineering skills and a bit of life experience that helped me develop my career path. This experience is transferrable to those who are interested in the fabrication and welding field."

Lukens added, "In my time with the company, I see our engineers, sales, research, operations, leadership, partners and support teams all working to provide an exceptional customer experience. It is clear to me that across the corporation, ESAB understands the need to invest in people in order to produce products of the highest quality. Having now visited many of our facilities across the world, I have had the opportunity to speak with countless associates, feel their pride and learn their challenges. ESAB brings a worldwide perspective of community and communications, where everyone's voice is valued."

Lukens earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering technology from Spring Garden College and a Master of Business Administration with honors from Temple University, Fox School of Management. Before joining ESAB, Lukens served in multiple leadership roles in various companies, including AMETEK, a global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices. Most recently, she was vice president and general manager at AMETEK, with global responsibility for four operating business units serving commercial aerospace, defense, aftermarket and business jet.
