High Precision Touch Probe with Radio Transmission

WRP60P is the new Marposs touch probe for high accuracy, 5-axis machining centers and milling machines that addresses industries where precision requirements are pushed to the limits daily, such as die and mold, aerospace, aeronautics and biomedical. Based on piezo-electric technology, the WRP60 touch probe is designed to produce excellent measurement performances on 3-D surfaces. Accuracy and repeatability are within 0.25 µm.

Through automatic detection of machine axes position, the WRP60P probe achieves part positioning, workpiece orientation and origins identification as well as accurate part measurement. The modular design enables the WRP60 to be used for inspecting deep parts.

"The radio transmission system guarantees high immunity to interference and a wide operating field useful for large machines where line-of-sight between probe and receiver is not ensured," said a company spokesperson. "A multi-channel system enables each application to support up to four probes. As many as 316 applications are feasible within the same plant. The WRP60 is ideal for multi-spindle applications, as two applications can be installed on the same machine, enabling two probes to be used simultaneously. Twin applications also allow for checking the part and the tool using the same receiver.
