Coil Feed Lines Supplied

COE Press Equipment has delivered two new coil processing lines with integrated coil end welders to Wico Metal Products, a provider of large stampings to automotive OEMs and suppliers. Both of the lines are equipped to process high strength steels (HS) up to 60,000 PSI yield.

The first line includes a COE 54" servo roll feed, 54" x 20' dual threading table, 50,000 lbs. x 54" coil reel and 4" x 54" straightener with 6" pinch rolls. The second line includes COE's 72" servo roll feed, 72" x 16' dual threading table, 60,000 lbs. x 72" coil reel and 4" x 72" straightener with 6" pinch rolls.

Both the lines feature power straighteners equipped with automatic lubrication systems, non-marking chrome rolls and a heavy-duty alligator peeler-dekinker station for hands-free threading and top or bottom payoff ability. The 54" line system has a roll speed up 362 feet/minute (FPM) and straightener payoff rate of up to 80 FPM. The second line system has a roll speed up 296 FPM and straightener payoff rate of up to 80 FPM. Feed accuracy on both lines is + 0.003".

In addition to the traditional coil line equipment, the lines feature MES Zipwelders for shearing and welding coil ends together, with all integration of this equipment provided by COE. COE also provided installation, training and startup of the two lines.
