Tools for Stabilizing CNC Tool Grinding Process

Rollomatic offers Rollomatic Intelligent Process Control, an add-on to its software platform. It is intended to optimize the overall productivity of a cutting tool company in terms of set up and unattended machine operation.

Features include:

  • Automatic machine calibration for faster and more frequent calibration.
  • VGPro tool simulation provides a realistic 3D model of the tool, accurate cycle time and collision check.
  • Rollomatic wheel balancing for increased corner retention and wheel life.
  • Alfa-Set wheel presetting designed for higher accuracy, easier use and quicker arrival at first good tool.
  • In-machine wheel measuring. In conjunction with the gap control (acoustic emission), the wheel diameter of a freshly dressed and scoped wheel is measured inside the machine before start of setup, allowing quicker arrival at first good tool.
  • In-process measurement. After successful setup of the machine, the thermal stability of the machine and the wheel wear is monitored and corrected with a touch probe.
  • LS Smart II inspection, a non-contact laser-beam device with a resolution of 0.1 micron or 4 millionth of an inch. The repetitive accuracy is around 0.3/0.4 microns (12-16 millionths). It measure unequal index and variable helix.
