Automated Manufacturing Technology

Ganesh offers a variety of CNC machine tools and automated manufacturing technology, from 11-axis CNC turning centers that combine multiple machining operations in a single set-up, to automated systems that incorporate separate turning and milling platforms to help increase production throughput and product quality while decreasing cost.

The 11-axis CYCLONE-70 3TMY CNC machines feature two Y-axis tool turrets in the upper position and a 2-axis tool turret on the lower slide-way. The 2-3/4" bar diameter machine features three 16-tool turrets for a total of 48 tool positions. This allows up to four tools in the cut at the same time while simultaneously machining the front and back of the part for reduced cycle times. When coupled with an automatic bar loader, these machines can run lights-out in a full automation mode. Gantry loaders can be fully interfaced with these machines to run larger diameter work simultaneously in the 8" lathe chucks.

The CYCLONE-32/42 GTS twin-opposed spindle slant-bed CNC lathe features dual-parallel gang tool slides. It is available with up to 1-5/8" bar capacity and features simultaneous front and backside machining using twin independent gang-tooled cross-slides. The standard C-axis on both spindles provides for full 6-axis capability for simple milling or drilling on both the main and sub spindle, and allows for the accurate transfer of hex, square and extruded shaped bar stock to the sub spindle. Twin 10 HP integral Mitsubishi spindle motors drive the 6,000 RPM dead-length collet spindles for accurate part transfer and complete simultaneous front and backside machining efficiency. Additionally, a 5" hydraulic chuck can be used in conjunction with a gantry loader for larger diameter work.

When a Y-axis is necessary, and where more complex milling geometry is required, the 7-axis Ganesh CYCLONE-32 CS provides simultaneous front and backside machining efficiency. The part can be machined complete using the standard 27-tool positions, including 11 ER-20 collet 1/2" capacity driven tool spindles. The 6,000 RPM 10 HP main spindle motor drive provides machining efficiency with the 1-3/8" bar capacity spindle. Both the main and sub spindle use hydraulically actuated dead-length collets for accurate part transfer and simultaneous front and backside machining efficiency.

When B-axis is a requirement for working angle features on the part, the 9-axis dual opposed spindle Ganesh CYCLONE-52 BY2 machine provides 12 B-axis tools for angle milling and drilling, and can also perform cross and axial milling on both spindles. Twin 20 HP integral spindle motors drive the 6,000 RPM spindles featuring 2" bar capacity. The Cyclone BY2 provides 36 tool positions with 18 driven tools for simultaneous machining efficiency.
