Simple, Low-Cost Wire EDM



The Knuth Smart DEM is a simple, low cost wire EDM machine designed to produce the lowest cost parts. The Knuth Smart DEM can hold a workpiece of 13.8 x 17.7 x 7.9", 660 lbs. and has full 4-axis capability for draft angles up to +/- 5 degrees (4" workpiece).

This machine uses the ELAPT 3.2 software that runs off-line and programs can be downloaded to the machine with the USB port. DXF files can be imported and processed directly. The machine can be programmed down to 0.000004" increments and achieves positioning accuracies of 0.0008". Flushing is used instead of full submersion and achieves fine cuts with surface finishes down to 1.2 um Ra. The machine comes with programming software, diamond guides and paper filter.
