Saw Designed for Wet or Dry Cutting

Whether for wet or dry cutting, the new HCS 160 from Behringer Eisele comes with a new machine frame and optimized chip disposal.

"The high-performance circular saw HCS 160 multifluid from Behringer Eisele also enhances mass cutting performance," said a company spokesperson. The new HCS 160 is designed to divide high alloyed heat resistant steels bigger than 1,200 N/mm2. "It provides a hybrid of tried and tested saw technology coupled with a high degree of variability and adaptability," said the spokesperson. The saw offers workpiece cooling using emulsion through the use of wide-ranging different microspray devices to active saw blade cooling for dry cutting applications.

The circular sawing line is configured for workpiece diameters of up to 160 mm. "The standard speed range of 20 to 250 RPM opens up scope for almost any type of sawing assignment," said the spokesperson.

The entire machine concept has been optimized to permit extended functionality for wet and dry cutting. A new chip conveyor with integrated coolant reservoir and coolant pump ensures the rapid disposal of produced chips and coolant. "For cleaning it can be easily pulled out of the machine," said the spokesperson. The machine is also designed to be rigid with a view to improving vibration dampening. "The new saw blade guide with BVA (Blade Vibration Absorber) and active chip cleaning concept improves saw blade lifetime coupled with an improved cutting surface for precise, rapid cuts," said the spokesperson.

As a fully automatic high-performance circular saw, the HCS 160 focuses on maximum yield while enhancing production-specific, flexible integration into downstream production processes. "A high degree of material handling flexibility is vital in allowing adjustment to today's continuously changing markets," said the spokesperson. "Wide-ranging different infeed and discharge systems and link-up to magazines and storage systems ensure independence from set night and day shift working, with the assurance of process reliability."
