New Sealed Linear Actuators for Lighter Loads

Bell-Everman offers a new compact model of its SLS sealed linear stage designed to keep contamination such as manufacturing debris, particulate or liquid contaminants outside of the stage housing. "The SLS Light model, which measures 80 x 120 mm, has maximum dynamic payloads of 15 kg for the direct drive linear motor version and 30 kg for the ball screw version," said a company spokesperson.

Both sizes deliver a proprietary linear lip seal design that integrates with the stage's anodized aluminum housing. The seal is made from a ruggedized polyurethane elastomer and is designed to resist chemicals, temperature extremes and mechanical wear. "The seal can be quickly replaced without disassembling the stage or removing payload," said the spokesperson. "Applications for the SLS Light sealed linear stage include any application where contaminants can threaten the smooth operation of a linear actuator including laser machining, welding, semiconductor and machining."
