Upgrading to 5-Axis Machining

KME CNC offers several solutions to upgrade CNC machines to 5-axis for increased capabilities. One of the KME solutions is the KME TR300X trunnion.

Features include:

  • Three independent platters so you can stage each part to next position while machining on another.
  • 300 ft-lb of holding torque on C-Drives
  • 750 ft-lb of holding torque on A-Drive with a 900 ft-lb upgrade available.

KME CNC's trunnions can completely integrate with control systems, so there is no need to program the control box. The units will work with direct g-code from the machine controls.

With a trunnion, shops can stop moving complex parts in and out for multiple operations.

KME calls the TR300X a workhorse. An example is a customer that utilizes five trunnions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All the critical cuts are done on the first operation. Then, the second operation is an easy one-sided finish.
