Chaparral Machinery Purchases Gage Machine Tool

Chaparral Machinery, a machine tool distributor covering Texas and New Mexico, has announced the purchase of Gage Machine Tool. Gage Machine Tool has been providing machine tool sales, service and support for 21 years, covering the four-state area of Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma and the western half of Missouri.

Dirk Gage, owner and founder of Gage Machine Tool, spent most of his earlier career at Hurco. Gage Machine Tool has traditionally had a primary focus on Hurco and Emco. The company also carries a variety of machine tool and equipment lines, including Takumi, Summmit, Erowa automation equipment, Midaco pallet shuttles, Supertec CNC grinders, HEM saws and Koma precision tables.

"Gage Machine Tool has always been a training and solution-based support organization. Gage Machine Tool has a large market share, and we want to enhance our training/support philosophy across the entire company. With fewer skilled tradesmen in the industry, this is how we foresee growing," said new owner, Chris Turnbull, of Chaparral Machinery.

In business for 35 years, Chaparral was purchased by Turnbull and David Sexton in 2020 and has expanded from two to 13 employees. It started as a Fadal dealer and became a Hurco dealer in 2004. Since 2020 it has added JTEKT Toyoda, Honor Seiki, Hanwha, Nicholas Correa, Vision Wide, Techni Waterjet and JLH Saws. A large variety of supplemental solutions is also available from Chaparral.

"With the purchase of Gage Machine Tool, we will be able to support our south-central region customers, both new and old, with leading service and training," said Turnbull. "Our goal has always been to reduce manufacturing costs while enhancing productivity. We have a plethora of knowledge that we want to share with our customers."

"The products we offer are at the leading edge of manufacturing and we strive for 100% customer satisfaction," continued Turnbull. "Bringing Chaparral and Gage Machine Tool together will improve all aspects of service, training and support for our customers."
