Replaceable Tips for Flat Bottom Hole-Making

Ingersoll has extended the application range of its Gold-Twist drilling line by introducing a flat-face geometry tip for flat bottom machining in a diameter range of 8.00 mm to 25.5 mm (.312" - 1.012").

"The line reduces the number of tools required to generate a flat bottom hole from two or three to a single tool, reducing cycle time," said a company spokesperson. "The geometry produces excellent chip breaking and high-precision flat surfaces." These tips are fully compatible with the Gold-Twist's current line of bodies in the same size.

Inserts are available in grade IN2505 PVD multi-layered coating designed for high wear resistance, chipping resistance and prolonged tool life.
