Compact Laser Cutting Machine

Bystronic has introduced the BySmart Fiber 3015, a compact laser cutting machine designed for users who are looking for high quality performance. Equipped with the ByVision control, users can quickly learn to control the entire cutting process. BySoft 7 software helps ensure integration into the manufacturing process chain.

"The machine platform delivers enhanced cutting results with a few operating steps. To achieve this, the BySmart Fiber's performance package focuses on the core competency of a fiber laser: laser cutting parts in a simple and cost-effective manner," said a company spokesperson.

Available with Fiber 2000 or Fiber 3000 laser source, the BySmart Fiber can process a range of materials and thicknesses, from steel and stainless steel to aluminum and non-ferrous metals such as copper and brass. Moreover, the fiber laser optics' thin cutting beam enables fine contours to be cut.

"In the thin range of sheet thicknesses, the BySmart Fiber speeds up the cutting process compared to a CO2 laser," said the spokesperson. And also in higher sheet thicknesses the BySmart Fiber proves its qualities. In addition, users can benefit from low operating and maintenance costs. "For users whose range of applications lies primarily in the thin material range, this means faster cutting processes and lower costs," said the spokesperson.

Operators control the cutting process on the BySmart Fiber using a 22" touchscreen. The ByVision controls the manufacturing process with a few swipes of the finger. ByVision accesses a database that includes the parameters for a variety of common types of sheet metal. Taking the material, sheet thickness and part geometry into account, it creates a cutting process.

While cutting, ByVision monitors all the processes on the machine and provides the user with important process and machine data on-screen. The user has an overview of all the relevant information such as the current cutting plan, the position of the cutting head and the machine status.

With BySoft 7 Bystronic offers a software package that helps ensure the BySmart Fiber's integration into the user's process chain. This allows the overall concept of an optimized manufacturing environment to be established around the fiber laser, in which users can realize the finished sheet metal part in a fast and efficient process.
